Venezuelan man warns people over anti-India comments, praises help with Venezuela earthquake

Next time you talk about India, you'd better remember a Venezuelan man's subtle warning. At a time when Venezuela is recovering from two back-to-back earthquakes, deaths and rescue operations, India's help for the country has been gaining massive praise online.

And Juan, a software engineer, does not want the world to forget how important it is to acknowledge this effort.Taking to X, he noted that India faces a lot of hate online and yet the country immediately sent its people abroad in the middle of a crisis to help out others. "All the b******t that's talked about this country, and look at them, nothing but serious and committed people. Next time you talk about India, remember that those folks, right in the middle of the s***hole, sent a field hospital," he wrote. He also shared a video where Indian military professionals could be seen helping deplane rescue supplies in Venezuela with the caption: "The Government of India sent a field hospital that is already in Venezuela."Further in the comments, he added "We will never forget this, it means a lot to all of us and to some of my people, who sadly passed away and others who lost everything."

Social media reactions

The man's post received positive reactions online, with others also praising the country for its aid efforts.

"People underestimate India because of their own ignorance and because social media is often their only source of knowledge. India is so much more than the stereotypes. We help even those who abuse or mock us because that's what our culture teaches us- Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The world is one family) Yet all we receive in return is ignorance and racism," wrote one."I am a citizen of India, thanks for all the appreciation ,India will help any country when disaster hits Like last time there was an earthquake in Turkey, we were the first to support," added another.

Venezuela earthquakes

Venezuela is currently battling the most difficult human crisis. On June 24, 2026, the country faced two massive back-to-back earthquakes of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 in Northern Venezuela. The severe shaking caused multiple buildings to collapse across the country, leading to a death toll of 1,700 people with 3,000 injuried. Currently, search and rescue operations are still underway. In this situation, India helped out the country by sending a 41-member team of experienced rescue personnel and medical professionals to work closely with the authorities.

Under the 'Operation Amistad', two IAF C-17 Globemaster aircraft carrying 35 tonnes of relief supplies and the team reached Venezuela."The relief consignment included a self-reliant Indian medical task force, an Indian Army Field Hospital unit with HADR pallets and medicines, 30 tons of relief supplies, six tons of medicines and medical equipment and two BHISHM cube portable hospitals," said the MEA in a statement on Friday.Videos of Indian doctors from the Army's 60 Para Field Hospital treating patients at a camp at the International La Rinconada Racetrack in Caracas have been going viral online, gaining praise for the country's efforts to help those in need. However, this is not the first time India has extended a hand of help to another country during a crisis. An Indian American man highlighted in an X post that India set up a makeshift hospital during the Türkiye earthquakes as well.During the Russia-Ukraine war, the country evacuated its own citizens along with those of other countries. It led medical and rebuilding efforts during the 2015 Nepal earthquakes and the fall of Yemen in 2015, when it evacuated Indians, along with Americans and Europeans.
