Neymar Jr’s son Davi Lucca has sent a heartwarming message as his chat with the Brazilian superstar has been revealed, after the Brazilian footballer left the field in tears with his boyhood club and current team Santos losing 0-6 to Vasco da Gama, in one of the worst defeats in the team’s history.

After the game, Neymar expressed his disappointment, saying that he felt extreme shame. Amidst the hurt and tears, he received a heartfelt and comforting message on WhatsApp from his teenage son.

Lucca reminded Neymar that no matter what happens, he would never be alone. The message was shared by the latter on his Instagram story.

“Good evening, Dad. I know today was a tough day for you and me, but I want you to know that in these difficult moments, when no one else is by your side, you should know that I will always be here by your side to support you," Lucca wrote.

“You are more than just an excellent dad; you are an idol, you are my inspiration and even on the days you cry, I want you to know that I love you very much. Always keep that in mind," Lucca added. 

“And never give up on your biggest dream because of people who don’t even know you or know who you are, because you are capable. Don’t take today’s defeat as a failure; instead, use it as motivation to always be better than yesterday," Lucca said. 

In another post on his Instagram story, Neymar expressed sympathy for Santos after the loss to Vasco da Gama, which left them just two places above the relegation zone.

“Santos doesn’t deserve this," the story read. 

Neymar returned to his boyhood club earlier this year after terminating his contract with Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal. Since rejoining the team, he has scored six goals and registered three assists from 21 matches across tournaments.
