The NFL is going bigger than ever in 2026. For the first time in league history, nine regular-season games will be played outside the United States, marking a major step in the league’s global expansion plans.
From London to Melbourne, and from Paris to Rio de Janeiro, American football is set to touch four continents next season.While the full regular-season calendar will be released in mid-May, the league has already confirmed host cities and several designated teams for the international slate.Here’s everything we know so far about the 2026 NFL international schedule.
How many international games are there in 2026?
There will be nine international games in 2026 which is up from seven last season.
These matchups will take place across seven countries: Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom.
This is the widest geographical spread in NFL history, further underlining commissioner Roger Goodell’s push to globalize the sport.

Melbourne, Australia
- Los Angeles Rams vs San Francisco 49ers
- Venue: Melbourne Cricket Ground
- Status: First-ever NFL regular-season game in Australia
This historic matchup will mark the league’s debut “Down Under.”
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Dallas Cowboys vs TBA
- Venue: Maracanã Stadium
This will be the NFL’s first regular-season game in Rio, after previous Brazil games were held in São Paulo.
Paris, France
- New Orleans Saints vs TBA
- Venue: Stade de France
- Status: First-ever NFL regular-season game in France
The Saints will serve as the designated home team.
Munich, Germany
- Detroit Lions vs TBA
- Venue: Allianz Arena
Germany continues as a strong NFL market after previous successful games in Munich.
Mexico City, Mexico
- San Francisco 49ers vs TBA
- Venue: Estadio Banorte
Mexico returns to the rotation after a short hiatus.
Madrid, Spain

Spain will host its second consecutive NFL game.
London, United Kingdom (Three Games)
