Meanwhile, according to NHL insider David Pagnotta, the Jets are expected to be aggressive with big trade moves and roster changes. Speaking on The Sheet, Pagnotta suggested that the Jets could take “some big swings” to strengthen its second line, an area that has lagged the top unit to carry much of the offensive load this season. He further suggested that the Jets still have the flexibility, though that figure will shrink after new deals for Perfetti and Rosen are finalized.
Despite that, the organization is expected to retain enough room to pursue meaningful upgrades. This significant roster move could mean difficult decisions regarding the current roster, as big trades often require moving key players, draft picks, or prospects, prompting the Jets management to explore multiple options so that they can prepare a roster and address the key areas that need improvement in the team. Nevertheless. as the offseason approaches, the Winnipeg Jets will be closely monitored due to the growing expectations that the organization could be involved in some of the biggest moves this offseason.
