Meerut: A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team raided a house in Bulandshahr’s Ita Rodi locality on Wednesday morning and questioned three brothers in connection with a case registered in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, over alleged “anti-national” comments on social media.Officials said the raid began around 7am at the house of one Mohd Khushbuddin, who runs a clinic near Siyana bus stand. The agency questioned his three sons — Mohd Qadir, 34, who runs a cosmetics shop, Mohd Bilal, 33, a tailor, and Faisal Khan, 30, who owns an auto parts business.Officials said the team examined mobile phones, laptops and other digital devices during the search. The operation continued for several hours, and the lane leading to the house was cordoned off.A senior police officer told TOI that the search was part of an investigation into a chain of contacts linked to an accused against whom a case has been registered in Visakhapatnam for allegedly posting “anti-national” comments on social media. “The agency is conducting an investigation, and local police are extending all necessary assistance,” the officer said.Sources said investigators questioned the brothers to ascertain the nature of their alleged links with the accused. They added that no one from the family was arrested and no seizure was made during the raid. However, the NIA has not issued any official statement.Neighbours said the family had been living in the locality for years and had no known dispute.
