Bandyopadhyay's performance, enriched by Soumitra Mitra's narration and student support, reaffirmed her significant role in preserving Bengal's musical heritage.
An evening steeped in devotion and classical elegance unfolded at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture as noted vocalist Riddhi Bandyopadhyay presented Nibedoner Gaan on Saturday. Organised at the invitation of the Institute, the concert paid tribute to the revered Bengali Panchakabi, featuring compositions by Dwijendralal Roy, Atulprasad Sen, Rajanikanta Sen, and Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Through her evocative renditions, Bandyopadhyay created a deeply immersive experience rooted in bhakti and classical tradition.Widely recognised for bringing the songs of the Panchakabi to a wider audience, Bandyopadhyay’s contribution to preserving and popularising this musical heritage remains significant. Her performance reaffirmed her standing as one of the foremost interpreters of this genre.

The evening was further enriched by expressive narration from Soumitra Mitra, adding a dramatic dimension to the musical journey.
Sound design was handled by Hasi Panchal, while the musical arrangements and ensemble direction were led by Abalu Chakraborty.Supporting vocals were rendered by students of the Riddhi's music school, including Ishita Bandyopadhyay, Simli Mondal, Indrani Basu, Srijita Sen, and Ahana Basu, who complemented the performance with poise and discipline.The programme witnessed enthusiastic attendance and was warmly received by connoisseurs of Bengali music. The evening stood as a heartfelt offering—true to its name—celebrating devotion, poetry, and Bengal’s timeless musical legacy.
