‘Nilanadam’ to chronicle history of Tirunavaya, Mamankam

Minister for Culture and Tourism P.C. Vishnunadh on Tuesday released the cover of the book Nilanadam, a book on the history of Tirunavaya and Mamankam, in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.

Organisers said the book would help introduce documented historical accounts of the region to younger generations.

Writer C. Radhakrishnan suggested the title Nilanadam. The book is intended as a reference for researchers, students and history enthusiasts.

Kurukkoli Moideen, MLA, presided over the function.

Mr. Moideen stressed the need to preserve the history and cultural heritage of Mamankam and make reliable historical sources available to future generations.

Tirunavaya-based organisations Re-Echo and Mamankam Memorial Trust will publish the book.

Among those present were Re-Echo president Puvvathinkal Rasheed, Mamankam Memorial Trust secretary A.P. Wahid, K.K. Razak Haji, Askar Pallar, Koyippuram Bava and Chirakkal Umar.
