CM Nitish Kumar interacts with women in Siwan on Sunday
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Sunday laid the foundation stones for nine development projects worth Rs 558 crore in Siwan district. Of these, four projects relate to the road sector while the remaining five focus on power infrastructure.The main function was held at Narayanpur Mor in Pachrukkhi block, after which the CM addressed party workers and residents at Papaur village in the same block, detailing the district’s development activities.At Narayanpur, while interacting with pensioners, Jeevika didis from self-help groups (SHGs) and beneficiaries of other schemes, the CM said, “Live your life confidently and forge ahead. The work is being done for the welfare of all and also to make women self-reliant.”
He also toured the stalls set up by various departments at the venue and viewed the exhibits.In the road sector, the projects include a Rs 120 crore widening of the Pachrukkhi by-pass from Mohammadpur Mod on national highway (NH)-531 to Chhapia Tedhi Ghat Gopallpur on NH-227. The CM also laid the foundation stone for a rail overbridge at level crossing number 91 on state highway 29. Other road projects include the Siwan Andar road, costing Rs 67 crore, and Bhanta Pokhar Jiradei road, costing Rs 18 crore.
Key power sector projects include the construction of a grid sub-station at Mairwa with an investment of Rs 222 crore. Also, construction of the Sonkara Andar power sub-centre will cost Rs 10 crore, Madhopur Maharajganj power sub-centre Rs 9 crore, the second circuit of Mashrakh Maharajganj transmission line Rs 9 crore and Siswan grid sub-centre Rs 8 crore.These projects, covering road and power infrastructure, are expected to improve connectivity, electricity distribution and overall development in Siwan, while also contributing to the empowerment of women and local people.
