SALEM: There is no ambiguity in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Tamil Nadu, Tamil Manila Congress leader G K Vasan said on Saturday. The AIADMK-BJP is the most robust coalition in the state, he said.Vasan said Union home minister Amit Shah had addressed the issue of the chief ministerial candidate without naming anyone, showing respect for the alliance's culture.
"It is widely understood who the chief minister will be if the NDA secures power in the assembly elections," he said.
Vasan was speaking to reporters after attending the birth centenary celebrations of the late Congress leader M P Subramaniam in Salem. Vasan unveiled a portrait of Subramaniam and paid his respects to the late leader.
Vasan predicted that the NDA would achieve a 100% victory in the upcoming elections in Tamil Nadu.He said the ruling party was attempting to sow confusion within the NDA out of fear of losing the elections. He urged the parties to come together to oust the “anti-people DMK govt.”He condemned the inclusion of political topics in the Group 1 exam question papers of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. He said including questions related to politics in govt examinations was a severe breach of decency. “It is unacceptable,” he said.
Govt exams should be conducted free from political influence, he said.Vasan pointed out that law and order had declined in Tamil Nadu over the past four years under DMK governance. The govt had imposed various taxes, placing a heavy burden on people, he said. He noted that incidents of sexual assault were more prevalent in Tamil Nadu compared to other states.
