District Collector Sumit Kumar on Friday (12 September, 2025) said that no eligible differently-abled person will lose entitlement to social pensions under the NTR Bharosa social security scheme.

Addressing a review meeting here with the Revenue, Panchayat Raj, and Municipal Administration Department officials, the Collector said that around 4,000 applications have been received for reassessment, which will be conducted transparently through special medical camps.

The Collector said that each assessment centre will have the staff from the District Rural Development Authority (DRDA), and the entire proceedings would be conducted under digital surveillance. “The certificates should mandatorily carry the authorised signatures of both doctors and hospital superintendents to prevent irregularities. An orthopaedic specialist will also be part of the medical team to ensure accuracy,” he said.

Mr. Kumar highlighted the government’s commitment to social welfare, and said that pensions for the fully disabled have been enhanced from ₹5,000 to ₹15,000. “The re-assessment drive is only to verify eligibility. Genuine beneficiaries need not worry, as pensions will be continued without interruption,” he said.
