Ponda: Though a few people have applied for shifting of their power connection meters to accessible locations for the ease of department staff, the power minister Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar said the date will not be extended further. The state electricity department had issued notice to consumers to shift their meters to accessible locations before Nov 28 this year. It was mentioned that those who fail to comply will face supply disconnection.“As per the regulatory norms, meters should be fixed at places easily accessible to the readers and insulated against adverse weather conditions,” the chief engineer said.“Considering the number of applicants, the government had extended the last date. However, the consumers should understand that there could be some more accidents during the extended period,” Dhavalikar said in Ponda.
