Janasena Party president and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan addresses the operational meeting of the party's Information Collection Committees, in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: Declaring that he has no personal animosity towards the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Jana Sena Party chief and deputy CM Pawan Kalyan said his criticism has always been directed at the party’s policies and governance, not individuals.
He alleged that whenever Jana Sena questioned the YSRCP’s functioning, its leaders resorted to personal attacks instead of responding to the issues raised.Addressing a meeting of the Jana Sena’s information collection committee in Amaravati on Saturday, Pawan Kalyan urged party workers to remain firm in defending the party’s ideology. “One should be soft-spoken, but remaining silent should not be mistaken for weakness.
We do not support inappropriate remarks from anyone, but those who freely abused others while in power are now questioning us,” he said.Taking a swipe at the opposition, the Jana Sena chief said the YSRCP continued to make provocative statements despite its electoral setback. “Whether you criticise us or not, Jana Sena will continue to grow stronger,” he remarked, adding that criticism was justified whenever political leaders or their families were unfairly targeted.
“People expect roads, drinking water, hospitals and other essential infrastructure along with welfare. Govts must strengthen public institutions instead of relying solely on free schemes,” he said. The Deputy Chief Minister praised party volunteers, known as “Sadhaks,” for enrolling nearly 20 lakh members across Andhra Pradesh. He said their efforts demonstrated strong leadership at the grassroots level and would play a crucial role in strengthening the party’s organisational structure.
