External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar informed the Lok Sabha on Monday that at no point during discussions between India and the US, amid the conflict with Pakistan, was there any linkage to trade—dismissing President Donald Trump's repeated claims that he used trade to stop the two sides from fighting.

Speaking on the floor of the Lok Sabha, Jaishankar asserted that there was no phone call between Donald Trump and PM Modi between April 22 and June 17.

Shedding light on India’s discussions with the US during Operation Sindoor, Jaishankar said that US Vice President JD Vance had called Prime Minister Modi, warning him of a massive attack from Pakistan — to which Modi replied that India would respond even more strongly.

Jaishankar then stated that India had successfully thwarted repeated attacks from Pakistan on May 9 and 10.

This is a developing story. It will be updated.
