Lewis Hamilton plans a major revamp of his personal and team setup at Ferrari in 2026 after enduring his toughest Formula One season and a 23-race podium drought.

Lewis Hamilton says he’s gearing up for a major revamp of his personal and team setup at Ferrari next year, after what has been the toughest season of his Formula One career.

“It’s Been Difficult"

The seven-time world champion hasn’t stood on a podium in 23 straight races—a new and unwanted Ferrari record—and the drought has clearly taken a toll. Still, Hamilton insists he hasn’t lost his edge.

“It’s been difficult," he admitted ahead of the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. “Confidence goes up and down; it comes with the territory. But I still have full belief in my abilities, and that’s the most important. Holding onto that is not always the easiest thing to do, but that’s got me to where I am."

Despite the grim results, Hamilton says he’s surprised by his own resilience. “Nothing that I can’t face moving forward," he added, sounding determined to flip the script in 2026.

A Shake-Up Is Coming

While he didn’t reveal names or roles, Hamilton made it clear he plans changes to his inner circle and team dynamics as part of a broader reset.

“It’s not a straightforward process," he said. “We are testing next week and then go back to the factory — and I have to decide what my approach is."

The Briton has been keeping detailed notes all season on what worked, what didn’t, and where his decision-making fell short. “In terms of personal perfection, I have written down what I felt went wrong every weekend and the decisions I’ve taken… I will analyse those decisions and make markers on how I can make better decisions in the future."

Optimising the Environment

Hamilton hinted that his 2026 reboot will involve a deep look at the people around him.

“My surroundings, in terms of my personal personnel, team personnel — how do you utilise people? Do people need to move into different positions to work better?" he said. “All this needs to be looked at in my personal space so we can optimise our teamwork."
