'No Recommendation, No Bribe, Only Fee': Candidates Hail Transparent UP Police Recruitment

Selected Computer Operator candidates hailed UP Police recruitment as fair and transparent, saying merit alone secured jobs without recommendations, influence or bribes.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday distributed appointment letters to 930 newly selected Computer Operator (Grade-A) candidates recruited through the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, with several candidates describing the selection process as transparent, merit-based and free from corruption.

The appointment letter distribution programme was held in Lucknow, where the selected candidates received their letters from the Chief Minister and shared their experiences of the recruitment process.

Many said they had secured their jobs solely based on hard work and merit, without requiring recommendations, influence or any expenditure beyond the prescribed application fee.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the government’s recruitment efforts and stressed transparency in the selection process.

“We carried out the recruitment process with complete transparency. Today, we are distributing appointment letters to 930 computer operators. You may have seen the recent exam for approximately 35,000 police officers. Twenty-eight lakh young people applied for it," he said.

Referring to other recruitments, the Chief Minister added, “Before that, we also conducted exams for 41,000 home guards. In the last nine years, 2.25 lakh police personnel have been recruited in various stages."

Emphasising governance and fairness, he said, “No recommendations, no discrimination. To establish the rule of law and achieve the goals of good governance, we must start from here."

Among the beneficiaries, Neeraj Pal from Lucknow said the recruitment process was conducted in a completely fair manner.

“Neither any recommendation nor any bribe was required. The only expense was the Rs 400 application fee," he said, adding that receiving the appointment letter marked the fulfilment of his dream of securing a government job.

Arvind Kumar from Jaunpur, who was selected for the post of Computer Operator, said the results were declared transparently, and the entire recruitment process was fair.

He described receiving the appointment letter from the Chief Minister as a moment of pride and happiness.

Anamika Rajvanshi from Hardoi also praised the process, saying it was completed without bias or discrimination.

According to her, deserving and hardworking candidates received opportunities based on merit, strengthening young people’s trust in the government system.

Parv Kumar from Bijnor said receiving an appointment letter is every student’s dream, and that getting it directly from the Chief Minister made the occasion even more special.

“There was no discrimination in the recruitment process. Most importantly, no expense other than the application fee had to be incurred," he said.

He also pledged to carry out his duties with the same trust and commitment with which the recruitment process had been conducted.

Selected candidate Anshika Mishra thanked the Chief Minister for ensuring a fair selection process and said she would discharge her responsibilities with honesty and dedication.

She described the appointment as a matter of pride for both herself and her family.

Kartik Saini called receiving the appointment letter from the Chief Minister a memorable moment in his life.

He said the achievement was a matter of great pride for his family and assured that he would use modern technologies and serve with full dedication while contributing to improving the efficiency of the police department.

The event showcased the experiences of successful candidates who credited merit and hard work for their selection, while the state government projected the recruitment exercise as an example of transparency and fairness in public sector hiring.
