An Indian couple in London shared a video in which they reveal how their demanding work schedules leave them with barely any time to spend together, highlighting the challenges of life abroad.Zeba Saifi, who moved to the United Kingdom in July 2025, posted the clip on Instagram with the caption: “Reel Life vs Real Life in the UK.” Filmed at a railway station, the video captures a brief moment where she meets her husband as their work shifts briefly overlap.
In the video, Zeba explains that she is heading out for her day shift while her husband has just returned from a night shift. Her husband reflects on the realities of life abroad, noting that their hectic routines leave them with almost no time at home, not even ten minutes to sit and talk.
The station has become the only place where their schedules intersect.
Social media reactions
The video quickly went viral, drawing a mix of empathy and advice. Users suggested changing jobs, persevering for future rewards, or even returning to India for a simpler life.“Change your job,” one user wrote. Another said, “This hard work and sacrifice will bring something good in the future.”While London is often seen as a land of opportunity for Indians, with a thriving community that makes the city feel like a “mini India,” the couple’s video shows the less glamorous side: long working hours, conflicting schedules, and the struggle to maintain personal time.
