Delhi Water Supply: By Wednesday evening, taps will run dry across more than 15 areas as urgent repairs shut Sonia Vihar’s main pumps for 8 hours

Residents have been urged to use water judiciously and store sufficient water in advance to manage daily needs.
Wednesday evening is set to be difficult for thousands of families across Delhi, especially in North-East Delhi. Residents are strongly advised to store water in advance, as a severe shortage is expected later in the day.
Emergency Notice Issued By Delhi Jal Board
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has issued an emergency advisory announcing major maintenance work at the Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant.
Due to this technical upgrade, water supply will be completely suspended in at least 18 major areas of the city on Wednesday evening.
Maintenance Work At Sonia Vihar Plant
According to DJB, urgent repairs are required on the main pump sets at the Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant located in Tahirpur. The maintenance work will begin at 9 am on February 4 (Wednesday) and will continue for eight hours.
As part of the repair process, the main pipeline supplying water from Sonia Vihar will be shut down. This will directly impact several densely populated areas, leading to a complete halt in water supply during the evening hours.

Morning Supply To Remain Normal
