Noida man orders sandwich online, finds plastic glove inside; Zomato says 'absolutely shocked'

NEW DELHI: A man in Noida says he found a plastic glove inside a sandwich he ordered through food delivery platform Zomato. The customer, Satish Sarawagi, shared images on X (formerly Twitter) showing what appeared to be a yellow disposable glove lodged between the sandwich fillings.Sarawagi had ordered two sandwiches – a broccoli, corn and basil pesto sandwich on sourdough, and a smoked cottage cheese and pepper sandwich.

Alongside the photos, he tagged Zomato, the restaurant, and India’s food regulator, calling the incident “a serious hygiene concern”.

Zomato responded publicly, saying it was “absolutely shocked” and had contacted the customer. “We can’t begin to imagine how upsetting this must have been for you. Please allow us some time to discuss this with our restaurant partner,” Zomato Cares posted.
