Tensions flared in Phase 2 of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, after a large group of company employees staged a protest demanding a salary hike. The protest soon turned violent, triggering panic and traffic disruption in the area.
Several videos and images have surfaced on social media, showing the intensity of the clash.
Violent demonstrators vandalised vehicles and nearby properties as a mark of their protest. As the clash escalated, stone-pelting was also reported in the area. Soon after receiving the information about the violence, a police team rushed to the site to bring the situation under control.
The violence escalated to the extent that cops had to use tear gas in order to disperse the crowd and bring the unrest under control.
