A first information complaint (FIR) was registered against two Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) spokespersons, Priyanka Bharti and Kanchana Yadav, at the Gautam Buddha Nagar cyber police station for allegedly sharing a misleading video on their social media accounts and linking it to the workers’ protests in Noida that rocked Delhi-NCR earlier this week.

The two leaders were accused of deliberately sowing fear and creating an adverse impact on law and order by posting the video that showed the police apprehending a drunk man and beating him up. Although the footage was from Madhya Pradesh, Bharti and Yadav allegedly claimed that the incident occurred in Noida during the workers’ protests. The false claim allegedly incited anger among the people.

In addition to the two RJD spokespersons, the police also lodged an FIR against an X handle named @ItsKtyni and the Facebook profile named Jitendra Sharma Dausa.

These two have also been accused of sharing a video from Madhya Pradesh while claiming it depicted events in Noida.

Information indicates that the accused, Jitendra Kumar Dausa, posted a video on his Facebook handle claiming it was from Noida. The caption read: "Why are you kicking? Where is your baton? He is a labourer; even if you encounter him, it won't matter. Noida, Noida protesters, Phaladi Bazar News,” the FIR read.

“Furthermore, another user on the platform X (formerly Twitter) with the handle @ItsKtyni posted a video claiming it represented current events in Noida. The title read: "This is the Noida Sector 62 now." The video depicted a fire/arson; however, the location shown is not within Gautam Buddh Nagar. This claim is entirely false and misleading,” the FIR added.

The police further mentioned that the video in question was found to be from April 11, 2026, involving a youth creating a disturbance in an intoxicated state within the Budhar police station area of Shahdol district, Madhya Pradesh.
