'Not Listening To Anybody But...'! Matt Riddle Opens Up On Brock Lesnar's Complicated Relationship With WWE

Riddle reflected on the bout that featured Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Austin Theory, Lesnar and himself as the Beast Incarnate went on to win the title.

WWE wrestler Matt Riddle reminisced about Brock Lesnar during the latest episode of ‘Rewind Recap Relive’ as he recollected The Beast Incarnate’s showing at the Elimination Chamber match back in the year 2022.

Lesnar, who has had a rather complicated relationship with the Stamford-based company, due to his admission of viewing wrestling as a means to economic sustenance, and his headstrong nature, has experienced multiple ebbs and troughs in his illustrious in-ring career.

Riddle reflected on the bout that featured Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Austin Theory, Riddle and Lesnar as the Beast Incarnate went on to win the match-up and clinch the title.

“Brock Lesnar was supposed to get out last, you know. So, you got myself, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley," he began.

“Seth Rollins buckle bombs Austin into the pod. This is all the plan to kind of concuss Bobby and medical takes him out," Riddle explained.

“So now everybody’s out, but technically the next entry was supposed to be Bob, but Bobby’s not there."

“Even though when the bell goes off, his pod lights up, but Brock still has to wait like another five minutes. Now in that five minutes, there’s multiple spots, multiple moves that everybody wanted to do to showcase their character work, and everybody was like supposed to get a pin," he recollected.

“Well, what happens? Brock Lesnar not listening to anybody but himself and maybe Paul Heyman," Riddle said.

Lesnar, who ruled the roost in the early and mid 2000s, has had stints in and out of the franchise over the years that followed as he tried his hands at MMA before returning to WWE with sporadic appearances and tailor-made storylines inculcating the cult figure in ongoing storylines in a bid to capitalise on the nostalgia value and to harness the pull of the iconic wreslter.
