Novak Djokovic was not holding a tennis racket this time. Instead, he was smiling in front of a famous church in Italy while his 11-year-old son Stefan clicked his photo. Just weeks after losing the 2026 Australian Open final to Carlos Alcaraz, Djokovic chose to spend time with his family at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
He was there with his wife, Jelena Djokovic, son Stefan, and daughter Tara. The 24-time Grand Slam champion shared moments from the trip on Instagram on Wednesday, February 11, but one picture stood out. Novak Djokovic and Jelena Djokovic were posing in front of the Milan Cathedral, and Stefan was the one taking the photo. It was simple, sweet, and very real. Later, the picture was also shared widely on X. During the Games, Djokovic was also seen reacting with pure shock to American figure skater Ilia Malinin’s stunning backflip on the ice.
The Serbian star had his hands on his head, clearly amazed by what he was watching.

After a tough loss in Melbourne, this quiet moment in Italy may have been exactly what he needed.
