NSO organises Swachhata programme at Appa Public School

The National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division), Kalaburagi, organised a Swachhata Programme at Appa Public School recently to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness and the importance of statistics in national development.

The programme was conducted in association with Appa Public School as part of the Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 campaign. It was chaired by Hareshwaran K., Director, NSO (FOD), while Jadhav Sujata Tanaji, Assistant Director, NSO (FOD), and Shankargouda Hosmani, Principal of Appa Public School, were present.

Around 170 participants, including NSS cadets, Scouts and Guides, students and staff members, took part in the programme.

As part of the event, tree plantation, poster displays and awareness activities, including a quiz competition on cleanliness and the role of statistics in national development, were conducted. Participants also took part in plantation drives, reinforcing the message of “Clean Campus, Clean India.”

Officials of the National Statistics Office also created awareness about the organisation, its surveys and career opportunities available in the field of official statistics.

The programme concluded with participants taking a pledge to uphold hygiene and spread the spirit of cleanliness in society.
