The rift between producer-actor Sandra Thomas and the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) intensified on Sunday when Friday Film House co-founder Vijay Babu issued a public statement challenging her right to contest for top posts in the body under the company’s banner. In a Facebook post, Vijay said Sandra “cannot represent Friday Film House and contest to the posts she is not eligible for,” adding that she can only represent her own firm for an executive committee seat — a position she is already contesting. He pointed out that, to his knowledge, censor certificates are issued to a production company rather than an individual.According to him, Sandra resigned from Friday Film House in 2016 after a legally notarised settlement in which she took her share, and “has nothing to do with Friday Film House since 10 years.”Check out the post here:

Legal dispute over KFPA nomination rules
Sandra’s nominations for KFPA president and treasurer were recently rejected, with the association citing rules that require three censor certificates in a candidate’s individual name. Sandra has contested the decision, calling it a case of selective enforcement, and has taken the matter to court. Vijay Babu remarked that it was now for the judiciary to decide, adding that “it could be new information for all of us too if it’s decided otherwise.
” The outcome could set a precedent for future KFPA election eligibility cases.
Sandra addresses Mammootty controversy
Meanwhile, Sandra Thomas has addressed reports linking actor Mammootty to her KFPA nomination row. Speaking to Reporter Live, she clarified that the superstar had no role in the nomination-related matter. Instead, she said Mammootty called her regarding a separate complaint in which she alleged her womanhood had been insulted. “He understood that there had been behaviour insulting my womanhood. Then he told me, ‘Do everything as you wish,’ and ended the call,” she explained.
Sandra added that Mammootty’s decision to withdraw from her film project was his own, and she respected it.
