Yogi Adityanath said the government responded to land mafia's by constituting a Bhu Mafia Task Force and issuing a 24-hour ultimatum to them.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that nearly 65,000 acres of land were reclaimed from land mafias after his government issued a strict warning soon after coming to power in 2017.
Addressing global investors and entrepreneurs at the ‘Uttar Pradesh Pharma Conclave 1.0’ in Lucknow, the chief minister said illegal land occupation had left the state without any viable land bank for industrial development.
“When we assumed office in 2017, there was no land bank available in Uttar Pradesh because large tracts of land were occupied by mafias," Adityanath said.

He added that the government responded by constituting a Bhu Mafia Task Force and issuing a 24-hour ultimatum to land grabbers. “As a result, 65,000 acres of land were vacated, which later became our land bank," he said.
The chief minister said the task force was created to systematically identify land grabbers and mafias and free illegally occupied land.
The UP government has dedicated a web portal to allow citizens to register complaints related to land grabbing.
Reiterating his government’s tough stance, Adityanath recently directed officials to take swift and decisive action against illegal encroachments across the state.
He warned that strongmen and land mafias would face stringent legal consequences and that no offender would be spared.
Speaking during the weekly Janta Darshan at the Gorakhnath temple last week, the chief minister said the Uttar Pradesh government remains committed to ensuring justice, security and prosperity for every citizen, and asserted that action against illegal land occupation would continue without compromise.
