Old-age home in Pathanamthitta faces closure over abuse complaints

Kottayam: The old-age home near Omallur in Pathanamthitta, which went under scanner after complaints of physical assault on minor boys, will have to shut down. A decision regarding this was made in the meeting of Orphanage Control Board held in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.Though an immediate shutdown was ordered, the office-bearers of the old-age home of Elohim Worship Center will be given a chance to present their side. A final decision will be made after the hearing. According to the board officials, the licence period of the establishment is getting over in July.
