'OMG 3': Rani Mukerji is no longer in the film with Akshay Kumar- Reports

The National Award-winning actor Rani Mukerji was reportedly set to join Akshay Kumar in the third instalment of the 'Oh My God' series 'OMG 3'. The potential collaboration generated considerable buzz, as it would have marked the first time the two stars shared screen space.

However, recent reports indicate that Mukerji will not be part of the project.

According to Variety India, Mukerji had been approached to play the lead protagonist in 'OMG 3', while Akshay Kumar was expected to return with an extended cameo appearance.The report further suggests that the actor heard a brief outline of the story and initially showed interest in the project. However, the discussions reportedly remained at an early stage and did not move forward.“Akshay and Rani share a great long-standing relationship and were genuinely excited about teaming up, but those were very early conversations," the report mentioned.With Mukerji no longer attached to the film, the makers are now reportedly searching for another actor to play the central role.The third instalment of the popular franchise is currently in the development stage and is expected to go on floors between May and June 2026.
