One arrested with suspected ganja in Kannur

Excise officials seized over 1.4 kg of suspected ganja from a rented house at Thayatheru here and arrested a Maharashtra native in connection with the seizure.

Shivaji Baban Kadami, 42, was taken into custody following a raid based on a tip-off received by the Excise Commissioner’s squad member P. Viganesh Babu. Acting on the information, a team led by Kannur Excise Range Inspector carried out a targeted operation and recovered 1.458 kg of suspected cannabis from the suspect.

Kadami was produced in the Kannur Judicial First Class Magistrate Court (I) and remanded in custody.
