One held for hoarding LPG cylinders in Madhubani

Madhubani: Police on Friday evening arrested a man for illegally storing domestic LPG cylinders in the Lakhnaur police station area of Madhubani district and seized 24 cylinders from his possession.

The action was taken on the directive of Madhubani SP, Yogendra Kumar, as part of a district-wide special drive against LPG black-marketing and illegal hoarding.On March 13, acting on a tip-off, Lakhnaur SHO, Kartik Bhagat, raided a cycle store at Tamuriya village. During the raid, Laxman Mahto, son of Jayram Mahto and a resident of Tamuriya village, was arrested. “All 24 LPG cylinders found illegally stored in the shop were seized on the spot. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of law, and further legal action is underway,” the SHO said.The police said the drive against LPG black-marketing and unauthorised storage has been intensified, and warned that strict action would be taken against those involved in such illegal activities.
