One held with opium in Chatra

Times News NetworkChatra: Police have arrested 35-year-old Uday Dangi with 1.38 kg of illegal opium during a special drive against narcotics on the Belgachh–Chatra–Itkhori main road under Gidhaur police station area of Chatra district on Tuesday.

Police also recovered a mobile phone and a bike from his possession. The action was taken based on a tip-off received by Chatra SP Animesh Naithany. The accused hailed from Kasiyadih Tikar village under Sadar police station area.Simaria SDPO Nagargoje Shubham Bhausaheb said a case has been registered under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. “The accused was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody,” he said.
