One person has been killed, and several others are injured as a result of impacts in the central Israeli city of Tel Aviv from an Iranian ballistic missile attack, according to Israel’s ambulance service Magen David Adom.
A 60-year-old man was identified as the deceased after Iran fired ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv, while two men in their 50s were lightly injured from falling debris, Israeli media reports said, citing police and Magen David Adom. The Israeli Fire and Rescue Service says it handled a total of six impact sites, where damage was caused to buildings.
Senior MDA medic Shai Becher said the victim was struck by shrapnel from the missile. “We arrived at the scene, and there was a cluster munition that had fallen, a piece of a missile. There is a crater in the road," he said.
Several additional reports of shrapnel falls in the south and central Israel are currently being investigated by Israeli Police and the IDF rescue teams, according to the Jerusalem Post. Two people were lightly injured in the Kuseife area of southern Israel from falling fragments following the interception of an Iranian ballistic missile in Beer Sheba, as per The Times of Israel.
Israeli Attacks On Iran’s Nuclear Sites
Sirens sounded in southern Israel and the West Bank as Iran launched several waves of missiles as the war continued to its 28th day. The missile attacks took place after Israel launched attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, hitting a heavy water reactor and a uranium enrichment facility.
Israel, which had threatened to “escalate and expand" its campaign against Tehran, claimed responsibility for striking the Shahid Khondab Heavy Water Complex in Arak and the Ardakan yellowcake production plant in Yazd Province. The strikes did not cause any casualties and there was no risk of contamination, said Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation.
"Iran will exact HEAVY price for Israeli crimes," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on X. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) told employees of companies tied to the US and Israel should abandon their workplaces ahead of a possible retaliation.
Iran’s response to the US-Israeli strikes on February 28, striking their facilities in the region as well as civilian targets in Gulf Arab nations and shipping, has disrupted global trade in energy and other commodities, raising fears of rising prices and recession.
US President Donald Trump announced productive negotiations aimed at a diplomatic solution to the war, despite repeated assertions from Tehran that no such talks have begun. Trump has extended a deadline by 10 days for Iran to reopen the blockaded Strait of Hormuz or face attacks against its civilian energy grid.
The Wall Street Journal, citing US and Saudi sources, reported that an Iranian missile and drones wounded several American military members and damaged several American refuelling aircraft at the Prince Sultan airbase in Saudi Arabia.
