The ‘One Million Toofan Goals @ World Cup 2026’ campaign, organised by the Department of General Education in connection with the FIFA World Cup, has achieved a milestone.

Although Kerala schools were given a target of scoring one million (10 lakh) goals between June 11 and July 20, they achieved this target within just 10 working days of the launch of the campaign. Penalty kicks were organised by setting up temporary ‘Toofan goal posts’ in each school to kick goals against drugs and score for a ‘Clean Life.’ As per figures till 5 p.m. on Thursday, schools across the State have scored 10,67,038 goals. Malappuram district is currently leading with the highest number of goals – 2,19,225.

Campaign’s message

The campaign began on June 10, highlighting the anti-drug message ‘Play Bravely, Live Cleanly, Win Together.’ Organised in collaboration with Operation Toofan, an anti-drug initiative of the Home department, the campaign was inaugurated by Minister for Home Ramesh Chennithala and Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen.

The campaign will be a blend of education, sports, technology, environment, and will promote the Home department’s Operation Toofan drive aimed at combating the drug menace.
