An Australian lawmaker returned home to an unexpected mess after discovering his dog had accidentally let a bull and a horse wander into his living room.Northern Territory politician Andrew Mackay shared the unusual incident on social media over the weekend, posting pet-cam footage that showed a pet steer or a castrated bull named Sue and a horse called Cricket entering in through the ajar door and exploring his Darwin home.“Note to self: The dogs can't be trusted with door security… Dinner finished early last night when I decided to check the pet cam to find Thunder figured out how to nuzzle open the door,” Mackay wrote, adding that the animals had now discovered “what aircon feels like and will no doubt try again”.

Mackay and his fiancée had stepped out for dinner, leaving their two dogs indoors. Footage shows his dog Thunder nudging open a sliding glass door and heading out, with the other dog close behind.

Moments later, Sue wanders into the house, followed by Cricket, who pauses to inspect the furniture.Mackay told AFP he rushed home after noticing “a cow's head moving into the frame” while checking the feed remotely.“And then we've discovered that about 10 minutes after we'd left to go to dinner, the dogs had decided to nuzzle open the glass door and let themselves out,” he said. What unfolded was more than an hour of free rein for the uninvited guests. Mackay said the pair “took turns playing inside, knocking things off cabinets”. Cricket found a bowl of vegetable scraps meant for the chickens and flung pieces around the room, while Sue took a drink from the fish tank.“The fish tank has been drunken from, and I don't know how many fish I had before, but I assume they're all still alive,” he said. “But he did drop the water by a considerable amount.”Andrew later confirmed that all animals were safe.
