 Ittar indulgence for Eid

Though the deep, woody aroma of oudh is always a classic, other fragrances that sellers say are a favourite include firdaus , saffron, and sandalwood.

With Eid coming up, shops in Camp, Kondhwa and Budhwar Peth have started seeing high footfall. From tiny roll-on vials to ornate bottles, these naturally concentrated perfume oils are just right as a pre-Eid pick-me-up.

THE POPULAR SCENTS Call it ittar or attar , these are distilled from flowers, herbs, spices, woods, blended with a base oil like sandalwood, and made through the process of steaming or hydro-distillation. Though the deep, woody aroma of oudh is always a classic, other fragrances that sellers say are a favourite include firdaus , saffron, and sandalwood. There are floral, woody, aqua, warm, and musky options available at the stores.

Oudh is always a top choice, but the younger generation wants variations. So, we have oudh with a hint of caramel, a warm and spicier oudh karim , and a sweet golden oudh , among others.
