Over 1.44 lakh cases settled in National Lok Adalat across Telangana

More than 1.44 lakh compoundable cases were settled across Telangana during the National Lok Adalat held on Saturday (March 28), providing financial relief and reducing pendency in courts.

The initiative, organised under the aegis of the Telangana State Legal Services Authority, was rescheduled from March 14 to March 28. Police units across the State identified eligible cases and issued notices to parties, with the settlement process conducted between March 19 and March 28.

A total of 1,44,251 cases were disposed of during the Lok Adalat. These included 21,388 FIR-based compoundable cases, 791 cases under the Disaster Management Act, 57,343 e-petty cases, 60,094 cases under the Motor Vehicles Act, and 4,635 cyber crime cases. Authorities said ₹24.95 crore was refunded to victims in cyber fraud cases.

Among police units, Hyderabad recorded the highest number of settlements with 15,719 cases, followed by Malkajgiri with 13,799 cases, Nalgonda with 7,727 cases, Siddipet with 11,317 cases, and Ramagundam with 8,195 cases.

Officials noted a significant rise in disposals compared to the previous National Lok Adalat held on December 21, 2025, where 1,05,182 cases were settled. The latest figures show an increase of 39,069 cases, marking a 37.14 percent rise.
