A total of 32,102 people in Ernakulam district have initiated the self-enumeration process as part of the ongoing Digital Census 2027.
According to official figures available till 5 p.m. on Saturday (June 20, 2026), 27,872 people completed the self-enumeration process, while the remaining 4,230 were in the process of completing it.
Additional District Magistrate K. Manoj has directed tahsildars and village officers to intensify public outreach efforts in a bid to accelerate Census activities, an official release said. The officials have been instructed to strengthen awareness campaigns through local community organisations such as residents’ associations and clubs.
The district administration is also conducting extensive awareness programmes and Census quizzes at various colleges across the district to encourage greater public participation.
Residents are allowed to complete self-enumeration from June 16 to 30 by visiting the website se.census.gov.in and submitting responses to 33 questions. Upon completing the process, they will receive an 11-digit self-enumeration ID via SMS. When enumerators visit households after July 1, residents can provide this ID to facilitate faster data collection. Enumerators will visit the households of those unable to access online facilities.
