More than 6,300 cyber fraud victims across Telangana received refunds totalling ₹45.21 crore through a Lok Adalat conducted on Saturday, June 20, marking a significant rise in both the amount recovered and the number of beneficiaries compared with the previous exercise.
The initiative was coordinated by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) in association with the Telangana State Legal Services Authority, banks, digital payment service providers, police commissionerates and district police units across the State.
Officials said 6,303 victims benefited from the latest Lok Adalat, compared with 4,627 victims who received refunds amounting to ₹24.91 crore in the previous session. The latest figures represent an 81% increase in the amount refunded and a 36% rise in the number of beneficiaries.
Among the police units, Cyberabad Police Commissionerate facilitated the highest recovery, helping 2,232 victims receive ₹21.91 crore. The TGCSB itself secured refunds of ₹6.83 crore for 77 victims, while Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate facilitated ₹4.04 crore for 779 victims. Hyderabad City Police helped 755 victims recover ₹3.22 crore, while Sangareddy police facilitated refunds of ₹1.69 crore for 167 victims.
Since the launch of the Lok Adalat-based recovery mechanism, Telangana authorities have facilitated the return of ₹445.41 crore to 59,953 cybercrime victims across the State.
Year-wise recovery figures show a sharp increase in recent years. Authorities facilitated refunds of ₹8.36 crore in 2023, ₹183.9 crore in 2024 and ₹182.9 crore in 2025. In 2026, recoveries have reached ₹70.07 crore so far.
