A group of four youngsters have developed a free augmented reality-assisted mobile application to help those reaching the Government Medical College Hospital (MCH), Kozhikode, find their way to reach various wards, labs, and outpatient departments.
‘Paadha’, the app, was launched by District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh on Thursday. It can be accessed through the website paadha.com from which the app can be downloaded. The app will show the way if the required the place is mentioned after scanning a barcode. It has been developed by Saleel Sahal, A.P. Nithin, Salih, and Naseem.
At present, a 2D map system developed by the group to help navigate the MCH block of the medical college hospital is already available. A blood donation system to help people get blood in emergency situations is also in place. Medical College Principal K.G. Sajeeth Kumar, hospital superintendent M.P. Sreejayan, Institute for Maternal and Child Health superintendent Arun Preeth, and hospital development society member Saleem Madavoor were present at the launching event held at the district collectorate.
