The flying squad of the Telangana Food Safety Department detected several serious violations during an inspection of a packaged drinking water manufacturing unit in Medchal Malkajgiri district on March 14. Stocks of packaged drinking water worth ₹55,800 were seized during the inspection.
Officials said the food business operator was functioning with an expired licence and had not displayed the mandatory Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) licence at the premises. The unit was also found to be processing and supplying bottled drinking water to restaurants using expired or invalid licence numbers.
