Pakistan Army Handed Guns To Kashmiris, Today They Call Us Terrorists: PoK Leader

JAAC leader Sardar Aman Khan claimed that the Pakistan Army had earlier handed weapons to Kashmiris and now are hypocritically branding the region’s local activists as terrorists.

Amid the intensifying anti-government protests in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on the 24th day, the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) leader Sardar Aman Khan made a massive revelation about Pakistan’s state-sponsored terror infrastructure.

Addressing a gathering of 80,000 demonstrators at the Eidgah grounds in Rawalakot on Thursday, Khan claimed that the Pakistan Army had earlier handed weapons to Kashmiris and now are hypocritically branding the region’s local activists as terrorists.

The leader said that the Pakistan Army had originally pushed weapons and ammunition into Jammu and Kashmir.

“They say they were terrorists. Look, it was the Pakistan Army that put guns into the hands of Kashmiris. Kashmiris had guns because the Pakistan Army gave them those guns. The entire Pakistan Army did it. And today, they have the audacity to call us terrorists?" Khan said while addressing the protesters.

Addressing the gathering, Khan also spoke about the Jaish-e-Mohammed event last year in February in which armed men, carrying dangerous weapons such as AK-47s and swords, had marched through the city.

Khan said that it was the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalakot who gave permission for the march and also provided security to the rally.

“Deputy Commissioner Rawalkot, you used to organise rallies here with guns and swords. Do you remember? And you will call us terrorists. All these people (protesters) are heirs of this land," the leader said.

His remarks drew loud applause from the gathering.

Khan said that if the Pakistani government failed to accept and implement the movement’s 38 demands, the campaign would escalate beyond those demands, shifting its focus to seeking Pakistan’s complete withdrawal from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Protesters Warn Islamabad Of Turning To India

Two days earlier, protesters in Rawalakot renewed their opposition to Islamabad’s administration of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, with speakers at a rally declaring that the region should no longer remain under Pakistan’s control.

During the demonstration, speakers said the region should no longer remain under Pakistan’s control and warned they would seek closer engagement with India if their demands continued to be ignored.

Addressing the gathering, Khan asserted that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was not a part of Pakistan and argued that Islamabad depended on the region more than its residents depended on Pakistan.

The campaign has expanded beyond Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, with members of the diaspora staging demonstrations outside Pakistani diplomatic missions in multiple countries in support of the movement.
