Palitana man stabbed to death near Puna lake

Surat: A 30-year-old man was stabbed to death near Puna Lake on Thursday evening, prompting a murder investigation by Surat police.Preliminary inquiries revealed that the victim, identified as Karan Vaghela, had allegedly come to Surat from Palitana to meet his lover.

Police suspect that two to three unidentified men approached him near the lake and attacked him with sharp weapons.“We are investigating whether anyone was accompanying him at the time of the incident. CCTV footage from the area is being analysed and efforts are on to identify the accused,” Puna police inspector C B Chaudhary told TOI.The motive behind the killing is yet to be established.
