Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to introduce three Bills in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) to provide legal framework for removal of the Prime Minister, Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and Ministers in States and union territories who are “arrested and detained in custody on account of serious criminal charges.” The Opposition INDIA bloc floor leaders are set to meet at 10 a.m. today at Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge’s office in Parliament, to formulate a strategy on the Bills. 

A Bill to promote and regulate the online gaming sector including e-sports, educational games and social gaming and to provide for the appointment of an Authority for coordinated policy support, strategic development and regulatory oversight of the sector is slated to be introduced in Lok Sabha on Wednesday. 

Congress MP Manickam Tagore on Wednesday gave an Adjournment Motion Notice in the Lok Sabha to discuss matters related to the Election Commission, especially the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar.

The Lok Sabha passed The Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill, 2025 and the Rajya Sabha passed The Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2025 on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) amid Opposition protests and repeated adjournments.
