Passenger partially sucked through window after Ryanair flight suffers mid-air emergency

A Ryanair Boeing 737-800 made an emergency landing in Greece on Friday after a passenger was partially sucked through a dislodged window shortly after take-off, leaving him injured but not in a life-threatening condition.The flight had departed from Thessaloniki and was bound for Memmingen in Germany when the crew turned the aircraft back after a cabin window came loose in mid-air. Ryanair said the aircraft landed safely and passengers returned to the terminal.The injured passenger, a Serbian national, was taken to AHEPA University General Hospital in Thessaloniki. The Serbian consulate said his injuries were not life-threatening, although doctors were still assessing his condition.

Serbian media, citing a fellow passenger, reported that the man's head and shoulders were pulled outside the aircraft before other passengers managed to drag him back inside.Local media and two airport sources told Reuters that part of an engine may have broken off and struck the window, causing cabin decompression. Videos circulating on social media appeared to show damage consistent with an uncontained engine failure, including missing fan blades, although the footage has not been independently verified.
