Patna: District magistrate (DM) Thiyagarajan S M and senior superintendent of police (SSP) Kartikeya K Sharma on Thursday ordered the deployment of magistrates and police personnel at 442 locations across the district to maintain law and order during Eid, to be celebrated on Saturday.
The deployment covers 65 locations in Patna Sadar, 153 in Patna City, 79 in Danapur, 59 in Barh, 39 in Masaurhi and 47 in Paliganj.Addressing a review meeting, the DM said that all duty points will have armed personnel and lathi forces. Quick response teams have been kept on standby and flag marches mandated. “Strict action will be taken against anti-social elements and those spreading rumours on social media under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
A 24x7 district control room has been activated along with the emergency and police helpline numbers,” the DM said.The DM said as many as 26 reserve magistrates have been deployed in three shifts at various control rooms, including 11 at Gandhi Maidan and 18 in Patna City, among other locations. “A temporary police station has been set up at Gandhi Maidan. Devotees will be allowed entry through gates 4 to 10, while vehicles will enter through gates 5, 7 and 10 for parking between gates 5 and 10,” he added.
Medical teams and ambulances have been stationed at Gandhi Maidan and the district control room. Hospitals including IGIMS, PMCH, NMCH, AIIMS and Guru Gobind Singh Hospital have been put on alert. Patna municipal corporation and PHED have been directed to arrange water tankers and ensure ATM availability. Besides this, fire brigades have been stationed at major locations.“Sub-divisional officers and respective police officers will be responsible for their areas, while the additional district magistrate (law and order) and city, and rural SPs will supervise overall arrangements,” the SP said.
