Several members of Andy Reid’s staff left for new opportunities, breaking up a group that had been together through multiple deep playoff runs.

The biggest move was offensive coordinator Matt Nagy leaving to take a job with the New York Giants. Regarding the latest news about Williams, it gets quite complicated if he makes the move. Williams has been with the Chiefs since 2019, starting as a coaching intern before steadily earning more responsibility. He later served as an assistant to the head coach, a role that put him close to Reid and the team’s inner workings.

In 2023, Williams was promoted to assistant quarterbacks coach under quarterbacks coach David Girardi. If Williams leaves, it would be another hit to a Chiefs team that is already trying to rebuild confidence and consistency. Kansas City finished 30th in points per game and struggled to maintain rhythm once injuries piled up and execution slipped.
