Pearl V Puri in talks to play Ansh Gujral’s son in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2

Producer Ekta Kapoor has often brought back familiar faces as part of nostalgia-led casting on television. The upcoming track of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 may now see another actor returning to the small screen.

The show is preparing for a new twist, and the makers are planning to introduce the son of Ansh Gujral, the controversial character played by Akashdeep Saigal in the first season of the daily soap.We have learnt that Pearl V Puri has been approached for the role. If the casting works out, the show will mark Pearl’s return to television after nearly four years. His last appearance on the medium was Naagin: Basant Panchami Special in 2022.Interestingly, Akashdeep himself was also considered for the part of Ansh’s son. The actor, who recently returned to television with Naagin 7 after a nine-year gap, was reportedly in talks before the deal did not move forward.Despite repeated attempts, Pearl remained unavailable for comment.Over the years, Pearl has been part of several television shows, including Phir Bhi Na Maane...Badtameez Dil, Meri Saasu Maa, Naagarjuna - Ek Yoddha, Naagin 3, Bepanah Pyaar and Brahmarakshas 2 - Jaag Utha Shaitaan.

His last outing on television was Naagin: Basant Panchami Special (2022). He was most recently seen in the film Yaariyan 2 (2023).The introduction of Ansh’s son is expected to add a new dimension to the storyline. Given Ansh Gujral’s complicated past within the Virani family, the character’s arrival could lead to confrontations and shifts in existing relationships.Speaking earlier this year about his own comeback, Akashdeep had shared how his return to television happened unexpectedly. He had told us in an interview in January, “One day, while I was at my farmhouse in Karjat, I saw on the live CCTV feed that my friend Chetan Hansraj had arrived at my residence in Bandra. I called him, and that’s when I found out Ekta Kapoor was looking for me. Ekta and I share a strong bond. We didn’t need any reintroduction.

That mutual respect and clarity have always been there. Some bonds stand the test of time. When she approached me again, everything felt aligned. Also, Naagin is a popular franchise.”
