Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday reaffirmed the State government’s commitment to the development of temples and preservation of Telangana’s rich cultural heritage.
An amount of ₹2,216 crore had been allocated for the development of temples across the State, he said.
Mr. Vikramarka, accompanied by his wife Nandini, visited the historic Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple, popularly known as Telangana’s Chinna Tirupathi, at Jamalapuram in Khammam district on Monday.
The couple participated in the ‘Dwajasthamba Prana Pratishta’ and ‘Maha Kumbabhishekam’ celebrations held at the temple.
Speaking to the media later, Mr. Vikramarka said the Indiramma people’s government is moving forward with the guiding principle of ‘Manava Seva – Madhava Seva’.
He said major pilgrimage centres, including the Sammakka-Saralamma shrine, were being developed with investments worth hundreds of crores while respecting the sentiments of devotees.
He asserted that the Indiramma government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was implementing a slew of welfare programmes and development initiatives to address the needs of poor and middle-class families while transforming Telangana into a global investment hub.
The Musi River Rejuvenation Project, the Regional Ring Road and the development of multiple industrial clusters are among the major flagship initiatives being pursued by the government to accelerate the State’s economic growth, he said.
The Deputy CM reiterated that Telangana’s development strategy envisages sustainable development of urban, peri-urban and rural economic zones in the State.
Slamming the BRS government, he alleged that a handful of individuals had monopolised and exploited the State’s resources, leaving Telangana burdened with a debt of nearly ₹8 lakh crore.
He further alleged that the same elements were now using their ill-gotten wealth to orchestrate a misinformation campaign against the people’s government.
