Permit scam: FIR registered against 27 auto drivers in Mira Bhayander

Mira Bhayander: Kashigaon police have registered an FIR against 27 auto drivers under sections of punishment for false evidence, cheating, forgery, forgery of court records, public registers, and govt-issued identity documents, counterfeiting on Friday.These accused rickshaw drivers have allegedly used false documents to procure auto rickshaw badges and permits. No arrests have been made so far.Currently, investigations are underway and the police are trying to identify the agents and other people involved. “We identified that the accused people gave fake documents like residential and identity proofs to obtain the domicile certificate, mandatory for a permit,” said the crime branch police sub inspector, who is the complainant in this case. He added they are looking for agents/middle-men who helped these 27 accused in getting these fake documents.
