Petbasheerabad police rescue man attempting suicide on railway tracks near Ayodhya Nagar

A 40-year-old man was rescued by the Petbasheerabad police on Sunday (January 25, 2026) evening while he was attempting to end his life on the railway tracks near the Ayodhya Nagar area, averting a tragedy.

The incident was reported around 4.30 p.m. when police received a distress call from the man’s wife at the Petbasheerabad police station. A police team reached the area in time and safely intervened, preventing the man, identified as Yadagiri, a resident of Petbasheerabad, from harming himself.

After being rescued, Yadagiri was counselled by the police and later handed over to his family members, police said.
