Water supply disrupted on Monday following a pipeline burst at Kaloor will be restored on Wednesday (December 17, 2025), according to the Kerala Water Authority (KWA).

A meeting convened by District Collector G. Priyanka on Tuesday to take stock of the situation following the pipe burst decided to deploy experts from the KWA along with representatives of Kochi Metro Rail limited at the excavation and piling sites.

Further, the KWA was asked to prepare an estimate for relaying a 500-metre-long pipeline that runs along the stretch from Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium at Kaloor to St. Martin’s Church.

A pipeline along the stretch had ruptured during piling work by KMRL on Monday night resulting in flooding of the road.

Earlier, water supply to Palarivattom, Thammanam, Kaloor, Edappally, Ponekkara, and some parts of Cheranalloor and Thammanam was disrupted after a 300-mm cast iron pipe burst near metro pillar 540 at Kaloor on Friday night. The second rupture on Monday night had worsened the situation.
